The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed. ~ Carl Jung, Swiss psychologist (1875 - 1961)
Who is the INFj?
The INFj "Humanist" represents the "Jesus Christ" of the social world, always getting crucified in some way or another. HYPER-sensitive and prone to socially avoidant behaviour especially when others scorn their fantastical world(s) of idealism.
Hopeless romantics always longing for things they can't have. Often getting themselves into emotional battles with others that they can't win causing yet more distress. Sexually they are vulnerable and immature expecting someone to teach them "the basics". Always searching for that ideal partner and rarely satisfied.
They work long and hard in their career to re-inforce their inherent avoidant personality disorder. "By any means possible" is their motto as they strive to reach a corporate position that allows them to work from the safety of their own office away from anyone who can upset them. Don't be surprised if they promise one thing (like a call back to discuss an interview) and end up doing something blatantly avoidant and unexpected (like sending their feedback in an email instead).
"Positive thinking", the scourge of the INFj, you have been warned!
They love to live in "la la land" believing they are the happiest person alive because life is a perfect utopia and so wonderful. What they don't tell you about is their ongoing existential depression and melee with feelings of worthlessness.
The INFj "Humanist" closely matches the character of Count Laszlo de Almásy in the film The English Patient with his sincere communication style, infantile erotic attitude and his overall rational-introverted temperament.
In this video clip we see the INFj altruist feeling the emotional weight of the situation, ready to sacrifice life and limb to sort things out whilst appearing reminiscent of a 'martyr'.
The INFj altruist with his under-developed extroverted sensing function does not like to provoke conflict but in this particular context he 'loses it' when his infantile needs do not get met and becomes a glutton for punishment.
Give the dog a bone — the INFj altruist unconsciously wants to run humanitarian movements aided by some wealthy philanthropists. As closet-atheists they should remember that non-prophet organisations no longer involve the amount of self-sacrificing they take for granted.
In this music video we find the INFj soloist taking an independent stroll contemplating the ethical dilemmas in society. These natural-born ethicists love nothing more than to reflect on the trials and tribulations of life.
The INFj soloist has a hidden agenda that manifests from his weak and unconscious introverted sensing function. This translates into having an idiopathic need to stabilise reality for self and society where this song cleverly weaves in the message about the apparent chaos of slaving away to money then dying.
These INFj soloists, as the name suggests, represent 'independent individualist' types who typically have a personal mission that they adhere to regardless of how others perceive them for it. With 'avoidance' as their defence mechanism they will readily distance or cut-off relations completely with anyone who oversteps their sensitive boundaries. How else does one deal with threats ethically and rationally — with the power of silence so as to avoid further conflict.
The INFj soloist here also appears to exaggerate his weakest extroverted sensing function where he abruptly brushes past people like he doesn't gage his environment very well. A weakness in this area makes this type an easier target for potential antagonists since his 'street-smart intelligence' remains repressed or underdeveloped behind his stronger ethical ego.
Young and old the INFj soloist encounters a multitude of 'suffering' on their spiritual path to a utopia where they aim to moralise the corrupt and release the potential of those who would otherwise remain entombed by their immoral beliefs.
